Rule of thumb

When a VPS is enough and when you need dedicated

The largest disk on a VPS here is 1 TB of NVMe. That decides most of it.

  • VPS: Bitcoin (pruned or full today), Lightning, Monero, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Zcash, Avalanche and a TRON Lite FullNode all fit, and cost between about eight and thirty dollars a month at Romania pricing.
  • Dedicated: Ethereum (1.3 to 1.8 TB), BNB Chain, Polygon, a full-history TRON node (about 3 TB) and Solana do not fit on a VPS disk. They also want more RAM and a faster network than a VPS gives you.
  • The grey zone: a Bitcoin full node on a 1 TB VPS has roughly three years of growth room. If you also want an Electrum server or txindex, take dedicated now rather than migrating later.

Two things we do not sell you: a VPS for a chain that cannot fit on it, and a Solana RPC node, which needs 512 GB of RAM. If your project is outside this list, tell us what it needs and we will say honestly whether we can host it.

Why here

Why people run nodes on a server that is not tied to them

No identity on the account

A generated login, no name, ID or phone. Nothing on file links the node or its wallet queries to a person.

A payment that is not on your main wallet

Pay with Monero or a fresh Bitcoin address so the server bill does not sit next to your other coins.

Tor, if you want the IP hidden

Every chain page that supports it shows the Tor settings. Hosting hides who rents the server; Tor hides what the node connects to.

Ten locations, your pick

Run the node close to your users or in a jurisdiction you trust. Prices differ by location; Moldova is cheapest.

A 12-month term halves the price

Nodes run for years. Three, six and twelve months take 25%, 35% and 50% off. The sizer above shows the exact figure.

You stay in control of keys

A server is a place for a node, not a vault. Keep spending keys on a hardware wallet and let the node see only what it needs.

How it works

From order to a synced node in four steps

Create an account

One click generates your login. No identity form, no phone.

Top up and order

Send crypto to the address shown, then deploy the size the sizer suggested.

Install the client

Log in as root over SSH. Each chain page has a config and a firewall note to start from.

Let it sync

The first sync takes hours to a day for most chains. Check disk usage and set an alert at 85%.

FAQ

Node hosting questions

01Can I run a blockchain node on a VPS?

Yes, for chains whose data fits on the disk. A VPS here goes up to 1 TB of NVMe, which holds a Bitcoin full node today, a Monero, Litecoin or Lightning node, and a TRON Lite FullNode. Ethereum, a full-history TRON node and Solana need a dedicated server.

02Which chain is cheapest to run?

A pruned Bitcoin or Litecoin node on a 2 vCPU, 4 GB, 60 GB VPS is the cheapest, at $8.50 a month in Romania. Monero pruned and a Lightning node with a pruned backend are only a few dollars more.

03Do I need KYC to rent a server for a node?

No. You create an account with a generated login, top up with crypto and deploy. No ID, card or phone number. You remain responsible for what you run, under our terms.

04Why do you list dated figures and sources?

Because chain sizes change every month and a number copied from an old guide can cost you a server that runs out of disk. Each chain page links the official documentation or the survey we used, with the date we checked it.

05What if the chain outgrows my disk?

Prune if the software allows it, or move to a bigger plan or a dedicated server and copy the data directory. Set a disk alert at 85% so you have months of notice, not days.

06Can I pay for the server in the same coin I run a node for?

Yes for most of them: Bitcoin, Monero, Ethereum, Litecoin, TRON, Solana and BNB are accepted, along with USDT and USDC. Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Zcash, Polygon and Avalanche are not payment coins yet, so pay with one of the others. See pricing.

07What is the difference between a VPS and a dedicated server for a node?

A VPS is a virtual server on shared hardware, with up to 1 TB of NVMe here, and it is the cheaper choice for chains that fit. A dedicated server is a whole physical machine with 2 to 16 TB of NVMe, more RAM and a faster port, which is what Ethereum, a full-history TRON node and Solana need.
