**Is it really free?**

Yes. Mailboxes cost nothing. You need a domain, which is priced separately, and you can register or transfer one from your dashboard.

**Do I need my own domain?**

Yes. Every address uses your domain, like you@yourdomain.com. [Search for a domain](https://offshorevpshosting.com/account?tab=domains) to get started.

**How do I read my mail?**

Sign in to [webmail](https://offshorevpshosting.com/mailbox/email) with your address and password, or connect any mail app using the IMAP and SMTP settings for your mailbox.

**Is my email private?**

We never ask for your name or an email address to create your account, and passwords are stored hashed. Standard email is not end-to-end encrypted, though, so for very sensitive messages use an encryption tool such as PGP.

**I forgot my mailbox password.**

Use [Forgot password](https://offshorevpshosting.com/mailbox/forgot) to check the address, then reset it from the Email page in your dashboard. We don't send reset links, because we don't keep a recovery address.
